Ahmed Abdulaziz has considerable experience in advising international oil and gas companies upstream and downstream sectors, oil field service companies, IT and telecom companies, international banks, international construction and railway companies.

Ahmed’s practice focuses on advising on various aspects of Libyan petroleum Law and Exploration and Production Sharing Agreement (“EPSA”), investment, labor law, corporate and administrative contracts in addition to act as counsel in litigation before all Libyan courts.

His transactional and advisory experience includes:


  • Represented Libyan National Oil Corporation (“NOC”) and its subsidiaries in international arbitrations under the rules of ICC, Paris.

  • Participated in the negotiations of the development of West Libya Gas Project including negotiations of gas sale and transportation agreements.

  • Participated in the negotiations of project financing for oil field developments.

  • Advised international oil and gas companies in the negotiations of EPSA.

  • Advised oil field service companies on their Libyan operations.

  • Advised international engineering and construction companies executing different infrastructure projects including railways and football stadium.

  • Advised foreign telecom and IT companies on Libyan projects.

  • Advised international bank participated in the takeover of Sahara and Wahda Banks.

  • Advised international investors on investment projects in Libya.

  • Represented foreign companies before Libyan courts.

  • Advised on negotiations of insurance policies.

  • Advised several service companies for the provision of different oil and gas activities.
